Killarney, or Cill Airne in our native Gaelige, means the Church of the Sloes. The Blackthron tree, which fruit is the Sloe Berry can be found in abundance around Killarney. Sloe berries have a long tradition in Irish mixology, the sour fruit was used to flavour gin and poitín and that tradition has carried on to this day.
In this time honoured tradition, we have named the Bar at Hotel Killarney, the Sloe Berry Bar. Come in to enjoy one of our handcrafted cocktails, we suggest our homage to our name, the Sloeberry Fizz.
