Torc Mountain and Torc Waterfall (Cardiac Hill!)
Every town has a 'Cardiac Hill' but how many have a Cardiac Mountain! Along this terrain of steps and rocks, you overlook the Owengarrif river upstream from the base of Torc Waterfall. This 5 mile walk will take you roughly 4 hours, and you should pack some snacks!
Ross Island
The Island offers an unmatched view of Loch Léin and the surrounding mountains. The Mining trail gets it's name from the ancient copper mine that dates more than 4,000 years ago! In just 25 years at the start of the 19th century, over 5,000 tonnes of copper was removed from the mine.
Muckross Lake Loop
This detailed loop around Muckross Lake is a moderate tone for walkers. Spanning more than 9 miles, the loop should take 5 hours to complete. Starting at Muckross House, take in the period piece of an 19th century home. Make your way toward Muckross Abbey, and find yourself in an ancient part of history! Along the way, you can stop into Dinis Cottage for a hot cup of coffee!
